Below we have listed some of the typical categories of accommodations you will find in Peru, along with a description and price range to help you decide which might be right for you. Please let us know which you prefer when you submit your initial booking request.
5-star hotels
Star level based on international standards. Many of these hotels are part of local or international chains and occupy larger buildings. Five-star hotels offer top of the line amenities including: bar, restaurant, room service, bell boy and concierge service, gym, pool, business center, etc. They differ from each other in the price and quality of facilities, services, decoration and location.
5-star hotels offer the highest level of service/amenities and are priced as such. You can expect to pay upwards of $300 USD/night.
Private Collection/Boutique
Private collection hotels differentiate themselves by providing an exceptional and personalized level of accommodation, services and facilities. There are different categories within this segment offering a wide range of prices and styles. Many times, a private collection will be situation in a unique location.
Private collection hotels are nicer that 3/4-star hotels, but don’t provide the complete amenities of a 5-star hotel. Thus they are typically priced in between the two at around $200-$400 USD/night.
Lodges and Unique Experiences
These type of hotels are exactly as the name sounds – unique! They are often associated with a specific tourist site – like the Sanctuary at Machu Picchu or Las Casitas de Colca – and they are usually the only hotel that offers their service. You should expect to have a once in a lifetime stay at these hotels.
While we highly recommend staying at these hotels for the experience, their owners know that they are in extreme demand and thus charge an unusually high price. Prices vary by location – so check with us during booking.
3-star/4-star hotels
Star level based on international standards. Many of these hotels are part of local or international chains and occupy larger buildings. Single, double and triple fully equipped rooms are available with private bathroom. Hotels differ from each other in the price and quality of facilities, services, decoration and location.
3/4-star hotels provide the best bang for your buck and usually cost about $100-$150 USD/night depending on the location.
